I'm Joey! I have a wonderful husband, Chris, and I'm a stay at home mom for our three year old son, Cole, and one year old daughter, Leah. We are currently living in South Carolina, but I have lived in the north (NY) and west (Colorado) as well. I'm not your typical homemaker, I'm much more comfortable on a mountain trail than I am in the kitchen, and this new "occupation" that is supposedly not a "job" is the hardest "non-job" I've ever had. If you had asked me five years ago if I would ever be a stay at home mom I would have said "never!", yet, here I am! Proof that God knows me better than I know myself. Some days are better than others of course, but I know this is right where I am meant to be and I can't wait to share with you how our family makes it work.
This blog was born from my passion to help families who would like to have a stay-at-home parent and aren't sure they can afford it. Staying-at-home is not for everyone, all families are different and only you know what is best for your children. I do realize how many stay-at-home dads are out there (100,000), but I will frequently refer to moms since they are the vast majority (5 million). My goal is to make sure you have as many tools and resources as possible, so that you are given a choice to begin with-and no matter what you choose, we can all save a little money!
